mmmm,mmmmm good food and service
Love the food there. I have been coming here for years The only place I go when I want Chinese food. I would recommend it to anyone.
Located in an industrial building. We walked in and were told to wait a few minutes for a table. As we stood there we looked around and the fact that the place was beyond filthy became painfully apparent. The carpets were old, dirty and stained and even the walls had dirt and food on them. There was rotting food on the floor, dust on everything and newspapers strewn on the floor. The place hasn't been cleaned or even vacuumed in a long time. The dirty fish tanks had only dead and dying fish in them. One dead fish was actually past the point of decaying. We looked at each other in horror and walked out without eating. I'm surprised this dump hasn't been shut down yet and even more surprised that people would actually eat there.
this place is garbage. i never came to this restaurant for 6 years, due to the bad service and that the food was dirty. i decided not to come again due to the fact that the sticky rice i ordered was old and smelly from the previous day. and when the waitress took the dish away he had not reaction like it always happened. when i came back the other day. they are still the same. they have never took the effort to change. the washrooms, wall, chairs are not maintained. probably due to the fact it is 24 hours. people continue to dine at this place, due to it being cheap. but i strongly encourage you to try different places such as Royal Dragon or Emerald.
Oh dear. When I find a hair or roach in my food, I don't usually broadcast it. But this place treated it like a daily event. First was a black hair in the shrimp. I ignored it and tucked into the various plates we ordered. Average tasting but with good company, it was nothing wroth complaining about. Then, much to my misfortune I find a medium roach in the baby bok choy, after having consumed half the dish. When I showed it to the waiter to discreetly remove the plate, she squirmed and refused to touch the plate. She calls another waiter who asks if she is meant to remove the dish from the table and if she should strike it from the bill. Um, yes!!!! No apology, nothing. With our appetites lost, we left the rest of our ordered plates. We paid and left. No-one said anything to us. Guys, a roach in the food is just not cool, ok?! Hair AND roach and you get me complaining publically!!!
This place will never qualify as high-class dining but food has been consistently good for over a decade. Does not hurt that it is a 24/7 operation. Only place I am aware of that you can get dim sum any time night or day.
I've been to Tremendous for many years with family for special occasions or just to eat. Over the years, I noticed the quality of the food to deteriorate. The food is alright, some of the menu items such as the shrimp with snowpea greens is delicious though. The service of waiters is decent considering the volume of customers though the manager is an outright jerk. I went to go get additional napkins and 2 knives for my family as we needed them, and got yelled at by the manager having her say "you're taking like a billion of them". Afterwards, she was staring at my table with an unsettling look, which made the overall dining experience not that great. The price range is very affordable and good (as a plus side). The restaurant could be much cleaner and the washrooms *should* be cleaner as well. I recommend this restaurant to those who just plan to grab a cheap and quick eat then leave.
Food: The dim sum here is delicious, as is the dinner menu. For no-nonsense, tasty and fresh Cantonese-style food, this place is a safe bet! Service: Adequate, in a typical, busy-Chinese-restaurant way. Atmosphere: Not a stunningly gorgeous place, for certain, but definitely family-friendly! Price range: Very affordable. Overall: I have been coming here for years with my family and recommend it. There is a bit of a wait on weekends for lunch after 1:30pm (dim sum is discounted) but I think it's worth it!
the dim sum is great and fresh, however the restaurant is dirty and the service isnt that great as well!! well, if you dont mind the dirty it's a good place to go for fresh food!
We've been regulars there for years. Dim sum very good and cheap = excellent value for money. Good variety, especially Saturdays. Wait staff friendly, little turnover, treat steady customer like old friends. Prices drop after 1:30 pm. Wait about 30 mins to get seated Friday afternoon.
I have been going to this place since I can remember. It is not located at the best spot, but has built a reputation for its cheap and delicious dim sum! Usually I go on weekends where the food is usually served on a cart that is being pushed around and you get to decide whether or not you will be daring enough to try that "interesting" looking item. The best thing about Tremendous I believe, is their egg tarts that are made with a flaky pastry, fresh and piping hot! Sometimes I can't wait till for dessert and order them halfway through my meal...because they do go fast! The service is good, with many waiters/waitresses to get whatever you need without any frustrations. Best part is, if you go after 1:30pm on weekends, the dim sum gets ultra cheap and thats when most people arrive! What can be better than cheap food? :)
I loveTremendous! The food in my opinion, is fantastic. However,it is a required taste so if you're into that fake North-American chinese food then you probably won't enjoy it. However, if you like real chinese food or you're an an adventurous eater, you'll like this place.
I've been coming here for over 10 years. The prices are great and the Dim Sum is always fresh and really good. I've tried many other places for Dim Sum and this is still the best. I only go for lunch it's always busy, especially on the weekends. Never bee there late at night. Cheers D
It was 8:30 pm and we had been moving all day. A few co-workers consistently rave about this place so we decided to give it a try. My first impression was not good, the waiter spit on the floor while leading us to our table. The dishes were dirty, the tea was cold and the staff were rude. When the waiter brought the food out he threw the plates on to the table. The wonton, although plentiful, was flavourless. The same goes for the fried rice. The chow mein was soggy and had multiple short hairs in it. Needless to say, we didn't eat it. This is by far the worst chinese food in Canada!!
I've been at Tremendous quite a few times, but I will never eat there again. The last time I went, I was seated infront of the bar and got a very good view of their practice. The bartender received the used water glasses after their customers leave. This man poured out the remaining water (somewhere) and simply refilled them on the counter for the next table. I couldn't believe it when I saw it because he saw me watching him and still tried to be sly about it. If they do that out in the open, imagine what happens in the kitchen.
Great service and the foods were excellent!!! Reasonable price and lots of great selections!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!
Great Place- Very reasonable food prices. Food id great quality.
This place was as filthy then as it is now. Washrooms still remain unclean. murder crime scene are cleaner than this. The waiters kept gawking at us and yelling chinese profanities all night long. This was a terrible dining experience through and through. Food: The food wasn't too bad, but the quality of everything else makes the food taste bad. Service: Their new clientele seems to comprise solely of young foreigners looking for an after-drinking meal. And as such, we were treated very poorly. I'll be glad to honor their request and never come back!
I've been coming to this place for over 10 years now. It has sustained me for many late nights on the weekends. The food is average to above average, but I've always found the service quick and prompt. The scary part is they recognize me when I go and I recognize them too! Some of the staff has been there for like 15 years. Prices are definitely reasonable and the closing hours are 4:30AM.
This place is known for their cheap dim sum on weekends after 1:30pm. First thing I noticed about this place is the location. I'm never really fond of where it has been located but have been very surprised as how many people actually come. Once being sat down, the dim sum comes out on carts and you pick and choose your liking from fried foods to steamed shrimp dumplings and egg tart desserts. The quality of the food didn't seem to impress me but was adaquate. The egg tarts were amazingly fresh (if you choose your timing well) and is probably one of the better items on their menu. If your not picky about how a place looks but wanted to get some good priced food, I'd recommend coming here. You get your money's worth!
