Wonderful restaurant and drinking establishment. I usually go there with my boyfriend but sometimes, late at night, when he is asleep, you can find me at Jax because that is where good friends meet. And I've met so many good friends like MJ and have recently got my hair extensions done by this beautiful woman who had carried around roses that entire evening. I went there once with my friend Claire, who was, at the time, struggling with her weight and needed assistance to get to the karaoke bar to sing 'Stand By Your Man' and no one mocked her obesity. The food there is great and it is full of great real people. I cannot highly recommended this place enough and when you come out on a Saturday night after making an easy 25 bucks, I'll have a place reserved for you at my table. I stop here ocasionaly when I take my bike following the hydro-line bicycle path. Every time I do stop here, I don't regret it at all!! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and took a chance trying this restaurant for the first time. We were pleasantly suprised and absoloutely loved the experience. We ordered the Peppercorn Shrimp appetizer and the Roesti with Smolked Salmon. Delicious and plenty to share. We then ordered the Shrimp Pasta and the Hunter Schnitzel. The food is really outstanding!! best schnitzel I've ever had!! Super value. The service was extremely professional and very attentive and pleasant. At the end we ordered the Creme Brule and what an excellent finishing touch to a great meal. The ambiance in the restaurant is very inviting and romantic. Found your restaurant online when searching for good places to eat in oakville. We stopped in for lunch just after 1 p.m. saturday. while there was a bit of a line,mit moved quickly and we were soon seated. We had the pear and butternut squash soup, a grilled chicken sandwich and blackened salamon salad. all of the food was exceptional! My friends and I decided to visit Cambridge for an out-of-town getaway. We are all admitted food snobs (one is a chef), so we perused menus and reviews online before heading out (we're from the GTA). It was pretty busy on Friday night so I am glad we made reservations. We arrived and were seated by a very accommodating host (who we found out later was an owner), and served by one of the most pleasant servers I've ever encountered (perhaps his name was Josh?). Every single employee at that restaurant was happy to be at work, which may not sound important, but it is and is one of the gages I use when I'm dining out. My husband and I both worked in restaurants for years, and happy staff says a lot about the owners, chef and overall customer experience that the server is trying to sell. Josh spoke highly of the owner as well as proudly explained the food and the creativeness of the chef and his menu. The food was fresh, creative and delicious. We were really delighted. It wasn't a five-star dining experience (but you are not going in expecting that), rather, it is a twist on pub fare that will leave you pleasantly surprised. We also enjoyed that the restaurant was not 'full of itself', the staff, chef and owners were humble and grateful for any compliments and made us feel welcome and appreciated as diners at their restaurant. My friends and I were sold from the moment we walked in. So much so, that we went back for lunch the next day (it was a no-brainer) and the chef came out to say hi to us and thank us for coming back! We cannot say enough great things about our experience there. I strongly encourage anyone reading this to visit Cafe 13 and enjoy their great food and hospitality. Lire plus

I have been here several times and the breakfasts have been excellent, but other meals average. Their coffee is very good and the bacon pieces are large, thick, and never undercooked rubbery or overcooked burnt. Portions for all meals are generous and prices are reasonable. So, good. The food was delicious, though not gastro-pubby, but rather pub grub. It could use new carpeting throughout. The stand out for us was the service. Our server was helpful, knew the menu inside out, and when we asked for some changes to make one of the meals heart healthy they went out of their way to make it happen. We were seated in a quiet corner...easier for my Dad that he didn't have to climb up a step...but there was loud laughter coming from around the corner. Everyone seemed to be greeted by name at the door. Our server was a nice young girl, but everyone paid attention to us, helping to deliver the meal, checking on how we liked our meals. We've been here a number of times and we've always enjoyed our meals. It's standard mom and pop diner fare, and priced right. The service has always been friendly and efficient and they know alot of their regulars by name. On our last visit, the service was slow, but it was a Sunday and the place was packed.
