iI have brought my two diesel VWs to Ian since the mid-2000s. He has done major servicing on the newer one, including change the timing belt, change out the front springs for taller ones, and install a 1 inch lift for the rears. When I found a donor parts car for my original VW, we struck a deal for him to swap parts off the running car for better ones off the dead one. Then he bought it for more parts for his race car.
