Small, friendly and honest shop. They work quickly and are very flexible. They are quite accommodating in times and options. I will definitely be back. I'd send my aged grandmother to these folks!Lire plus
The BEST mechanic in Alberta. Very fair prices. And he will never do anything to your vehicle that does not need to be done. Quotes are accurate. Job is done above and beyond standards.Lire plus
I'm VERY particular about where I take my MB for service, and R U Auto is my choice without question. Roland and Kate are knowledgeable about the brand, treat my vehicle as if it were their own, and their prices are reasonable. On top of all that, they're nice people to deal with. While you're there you may even get a visit from their poodle Spec. Thanks Roland, Kate and Spec; you are the best!Lire plus
Silver Star Auto - I have been using Silver Star to repair all my vehicles for almost 20 years now. THEY ARE HONEST. They do not BS people. They are willing to cater to unique needs of a customer (like present an alternatives, if possible). The staff is very experienced with everyone being more or less there at the start and still there with the added apprentice once in a while (or worker - whatever - I assume).
These guys remembered my name after being away for years - that is impressive in on its own; it means they are smart and have good memories, which I think would serve a mechanic well; and apparently does.
When a LARGE Canada wide "Tire" company mechanic told me I needed new ball joints or my wheels would fall off within a month; even though I was there to get my brakes looked at, and quoted me prices over $1000. I HAD to get a second opinion. I just chanced upon Silver Star and was told the ball joints were fine. They lasted longer than 10 years - longer than the truck actually. Also, the brake job came in around $100 only (but 20 years ago), because they only did what was necessary, not tacking on new rotors, or the rear brakes (which had lots of life left at the time).
They will show you an old part they removed if you ask and even point out how it was defective.
They are professional and friendly enough - but not "Salesmen" - I have never been pressured to buy this or that. Try them and see!Lire plus
You can go here and pay by the hour to use auto shop stuff. They have a couple hoists, a paint booth, tools to rent, tire machine, etc. Go mount and balance your own winter tires for a hundred dollars less than the tire shops want. Wanna paint your car? Bring in your paints and materials, and use the house guns and booth. Wanna do your brakes? Come rent a hoist for a few hours. Need to change an engine? They can rent your the space and a engine crane. If you have slight mechanical abilities you can save yourself alot of money with a place like this. Do your own tune ups or brakejobs. Help is available if you are nice, just ask the other people around there. Want a cheap mechanic, pop in here and ask the people that come in all the time if they wanna make a few bucks. Unique place for sure!Lire plus
