On a good night, arguably one of the best sushi restaurants around with Korean twist. The quality can fluctuate a bit though depending on who's rolling your sushi that night.

Best Sushi in Toronto!
This place is really nice, very friendly staff, good atmosphere. The sushi costs a bit more than usual, but 100% worth it. This is my go to place for sushi.

Service from a Japanese restaurant WOW!!!
I visit this restuarant twice a month with my wife. I enjoy the fun greeting and have always had fast service. The food is very consistant and great value as well. We live on the east side of Markham so we literally pass 50 other Japanese restaurants to go to this location. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Diarrhea! Vomitting! Nausea! My boyfriend and I are all suffering from within less than hour after eating dinner at Tomo Japanese restaurant in Richmond Hill last night. We experienced uncontrollable projectile vomit and diarrhea for 12 hours. We ate miso soup, green tea, sushi and sashimi dinner bento box # 4 and, chirashi dinner. DO NOT EAT HERE. I will be calling the health inspector and letting them know about the foods.

Amazing food with excellent sushi ! Very reasonable price . Mistakes with you order with no sorry and no taking that back!!! The lady-server (dont know her name)at pick up desk is not pleasant and attentive, e.g. not offering anything while you wait for a take out order. I would love to come If she is not in a shift!!

yeah I know what u mean. that girl is sexy gorgeous. She knows how to get me to pay my tip totally cool. But the fish is super fresh and never disappoints. I just have to figere out when that girl works because sometimes she is off and they have some guy for service.

I don't know what the others are talking about. The ambience is totally modern and cool. The food was average , really it was OK and I had many sushis, but the prices were very high. Surprised at the high $$$. What I have to say is the best about these guys is the pretty waitress in a cute mini. Good food, good decor, friendly service and chic waitress. Of course I tipped a full 15%. If she is trying then so will I. hot Oriental girl!

Excellent sushi, good value
Tomo sushi has excellent sushi selection and the restaurant has recently introduced special treats, such as Tuna Belly sushi/sashimi from Japan. Whilst this selection is pricey, it is definitely worth experiencing. On another occasion I had ordered a take-out selection of sushis for a party of 10, and got them in a beautiful boat (a deposit for the boat was required) with a very reasonable price compared to other sushi places in Richmond Hill. All of their sushis are delicious and the sushi here has always been fresh. The servers are pleasant and attentive, e.g. offering complimentary green tea while you wait for a take out order.

I love Tomo Sushi~! Me and my friends go there at least twice a week. The staff is so helpful, absolutely excellent service! So what they dont speak perfect english, just point out your order, let them repeat it and then you know that there will be no mistakes with you order. The food is always fabolous! LOVE the crunchy soup!

The food was good and came out quite fast due to only a few people were there at that time. I read one of the reviews about the server making a mistake with the food order and charged more. They did the same thing with my order, but I didn't realize it until I saw the bill. I never had Donburi before so I didn't know there were different types; I just said what was exactly on the menu. My future advise, give them the letter and number code, hopefully that will reduce their error and not have to pay for their mistake.

They recently renovated the place and it looks great! they've also got special party rooms that you can make reservations for if you have a bigger party. Its really nice, you sit on the floor and its very private and traditional

Tomo is our favourite restaurant. We tried it first almost 3 years ago and since then it's been our best treat. We come here often. Sometimes we try other places as we love to try different food and cuisine only to realize there is no better food than in Tomo. Chef is awesome - he is a real artist. Staff is very friendly. Their crunchy noodle soup is delicious! The Teriyaki is best we've ever tried - and we try a lot (not only in Richmond Hill, but in Toronto). Rolls and sushi are awesome, very fresh and delicious. Even if you are not raw fish lover, you'll find other great dishes. My favourites are Dynamite Roll and Dragon Roll. Their Spicy Tuna salad is great if you like spicy food. Money wise it's very cheap considering the food quality and service.
