I had read the reviews and talked to a few people and heard that Basil Court had good food, but the atmosphere would be dismal. Not only was the atmosphere completely depressing since there are no windows, all of the walls are painted a darker version of doctor's office waiting-room green, but the food was terrible. There was nothing authentic about the food. Everything was deep-fried, including the vegetables!!! Where were the authentic ingredients (i.e. THAI BASIL)? As far as I can tell, the only thing that had a thai ingredient was in the name. Overall, the service was good, but mine and my friend's meals came at different times. The server claimed it was because the tofu on my dish took longer to cook. FYI, it was the exact same tofu and the restaurant wasn't busy. I was extremely disappointed with the entire experience. Nevertheless, I shall be continuing my mission to find an authentic thai restaurant in the Windsor region. Any suggestions?
This restaurant was amazing. The food was excellent and the service was great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
I've tried all restaurants in Windsor that carries Thai cuisine and Basil Court is still my favorite! I have been going there for almost 10 years and the food still remains fabulous!
I love this place! My boyfriend and I tried to go there as often as possible and we always order the pad thai - it's delicious! The service is always fast and the waitresses are very friendly - it's also close to the university - makes a great in between classes meal place. I've been many times and I plan to go many more!
I know...Another all 10s person, but you have to understand that I've eaten in Thai restaurants across Canada and Basil Court is by far the best. It has better food than a 5 star Thai Restaurant I used to eat at in Kensington (Calgary) where the owner flew his chefs in from Thailand. Kim, the new owner of Basil Court does all she can to make your visit wonderful. Sometimes, especially at lunch during the week, the wait is about 15 minutes but there isn't an empty seat in the place because you get a full lunch (main dish and steamed rice) for under $7...How can you go wrong? As with any restaurant the food is not always absolutely 100% the same as the time before, but it is good none the less. And the decor isn't much to stare at but my 2 daughters (3 and 1) love the fish tank, even as bare as it is.
